First day, we made lei cha(thunder tea)! 100% home made~ For those who don’t know, lei cha is a hakka dish consisting of many different types of vegetables chopped into tiny bits and pieces, which is eaten drenched in green coloured tea(brewed from tea leaves, basil and mint).. In the olden days people ground the leaves manually and chop the nuts and veggy themselves thus producing loud noises hence the name thunder tea.

We plucked the tea leaves from a neighbour’s garden(with permission of course) ourselves and everything from the washing to grinding was done with the cooperation of the whole family~ (: The result was hot and freshly made lei cha! I ate 3 bowls of it and altogether about 6 bowls of soup. :x

Second day was spent visiting some distant relative. 4 hours of non stop chatting while i sat like like a log…. devouring cookies and 7 cups of tea. The houses in Malaysia are huge.. snapped pictures around the house. Their kid draws and his drawings were everywhere.. his grandma even made a calendar out of his drawings.. im impressed~

Last day was spent playing with the kids. The two girls are really crazy~ their sweet looks are deceiving! Hee enjoyed playing and running around though.. and drawing the whole night away. Took crazy videos as well haha!

Noodles takeaway were wrapped in newspaper.

One packet is HUGE and enough to feed 2!

Yam cake which is dense and packed with lots of yam!

Cheap and good bee hoon!

A streetside stall selling fried malay snacks.. the aroma was really tempting~

Kway teow soup that aunt is in love with! They added fried shallot oil to the soup which makes it extra tasty and fragant!
I enjoyed my stay there.. A relaxing and peaceful life in a huge house with 2 storeys situated in a kampong like place with chickens running around and people planting their own fruit trees and vegetables.. with every house having at least a few cars.. not forgetting the good but cheap food!
