Treated baby at Bugis Junction’s Sakae Teppanyaki which I’ve been eyeing for a long long time.
We were seated around this big semicircle table with a family and another couple. The 2 chefs were in the center and they looked pretty warm and friendly, and also appeared to be rather stressfree when cooking~ (:

Condiments such as soy sauce, scallions, garlic and chili pepper powder were placed neatly on the table, but i think those does nothing much to the taste of the food as some people barely touched them. :p

First up was the salad which looked really appealing in a small round bowl. The vegetables were crunchy and looked rather fresh, unlike those malnourished lettuce in mcdonalds’ burgers. It was unique as they don’t use white creamy sauce but instead used a sour tangy sauce which whets the appetite. Miso soup came too.

Had the chicken set and turkey set, both ‘upgraded’ to garlic rice. It’s worth it in my opinion as i find white rice rather boring. :p Topped with yummy shrimps and fried with eggs and a mountain of garlic, it was savory.. Mmm..

Gindara(silver cod fish) and scallops which came with the turkey set. I really love the ’sea’ taste of the scallop, it was heavenly~ so so different from those white scallops stir fried with broccoli which you find in Chinese restaurants. What i loved most was the gindara fish, real tender and had a milky taste.. I love fish! A side of random vegetables came too but i didn’t capture it.. it was basically crunchy beansprouts stirfried with onions.

Salmon and oysters for the chicken set. The salmon was average but according to baby they oyster was good, soft and tasty.. i don’t eat oysters but had a small bite.. indeed it was soft and juicy.. feels like I’m eating baby fats..

Tofu steak topped with mixed veggies with sauce. Pretty normal but it was rather cute seeing the chef stir fry the few bits of veggy and placing it carefully on the rectangular block of tofu that baby thought was butter.

The mixed mushrooms were really really yummy! It was such a perfect blend of mushroomy goodness.. I wish they gave more of this.. it looked so photogenic that i can’t wait to eat them~

I never knew that turkey took such a short time to cook! The texture of the meat was rather inconsistent, some parts were hard and unchewable and i had to spit them out. :/ The taste was alright though, it reminded me of satay. But it’ll be much much better if they took the time to skim off the fats and tendons to improve the texture..

The chicken took a long time to cook, the cook even lit a huge fire on the chicken in front of us.. it was quite fun to watch.. but the meat was quite tough to bite even though the taste was good. Maybe the chef don’t like chicken -ike creatures’ meat. :p

Chawanmushi! This is what I’m here for. It is steamed in an onion shell and it was an interesting experience witnessing the chef putting this delicate dish together. This was the star of the show.. the egg was steamed just right, soft, slurpilicious and warmly yummy~ The prawn was really really soft and.. everything was just heavenly. (: A perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
This is just the place for me as i love variety and colours in in my food, and of course, seeing the chefs cook and wondering if what he’s cooking will end up in my plate. :p
Not forgetting the company i had, it won’t be the same if I’m eating by myself~
Ah!! And and thanks hay for the recommendation!
