today was spent with these dear adorable girls from swimming!
we baked blueberry muffins with burnt tops because we were too engrossed with chatting over
a lunch of cold noodles with breaded scallops, honey chicken wings, pizza dumplings, fish fingers and eggs.
then we did craft with paper punches~
i’m such an overaged kid!
Tried Ice Monster with YN last Sunday after our project meeting.
This is my Red beans + yam milk ice. Imagine my excitement when i see this on the menu! I love red beans and yam, and this dessert certainly didn’t disappoint with red beans of just the right sweet ness and mashy yam to compliment it, not forgetting the milky ice. For $3.50, I feel that it is worth it as they use really quality ingredients.
YN got the Mango Sherbet with really sweet and juicy mango bits. It tastes wholely of mango and no artificial flavourings! $4.50 for fresh mangos. :)
Do give it a try for a refreshing treat!

On Thursday night, i had my first cedele sandwich!
Finally!!! It’s smoked salmon on wholemeal sunflower bread. This is really worth the wait~ I’ve never eaten bread so well toasted before(unless it’s toasted by me whahhaa~) I love the yoghurt dressing they put in, it’s refreshing and yumyum~

Saturday is crazy.
We had the usual breakfast at morning market,
played UNO, old maid, went mad and started talking gibberish,
camwhoring for no reason,
viwawa-ed while baking muffins,
ran for miles,
ate dinner and slacked like mad.

The first batch of muffins were burnt with hard cookie like tops all because of viwawa.. :/ Compare it with the second batch!

i look so tired in the pictures! I was really tired actually. Ahaha~
Two days ago, I was at Ochacha to for Breadpig’s first food gathering! (: It was at Ochacha, a small cafe specializing in matcha~
Met up with Zhengning first~
Chips were present on the table when we arrive, it tasted like pringles with seaweed on it. ;p
We had a tasting of matcha first.
Matcha rocks is basically chilled sweetened matcha. Matcha tastes totally different from Jasmine green tea. It reminds me of wheatgrass~ i prefer it much more than Jasmine green tea!
Ochacha rocks is matcha with milk. I prefer the former.
Azuki Freezie (matcha with japanese red beans ice blended) is the absolute love!!!!!! I really really love it to bits. I think everyone at my table knows that. Hee~ I’ll definitely go back for more.. if only it’s not so expensive.. :/ but it’s worth it!!!
Tried the Tomato soup. Tt was tangy and stirs up the appettite. Many thought the Mushroom soup was a tad too salty, but i found it nice. Tt was rough and has lots of mushroom bits in it.. but then it might be because i only had a few mouthful and not the entire bowl.
Next up was the main dishes! Sakura Egg Sandwich was simple but really yummy. (: Everything came together nicely, the bread was crusty at the sides but soft in the middle, the sakura denbu enhanced the taste of the egg.
This is the Wasabi Tuna Sandwich which i feel paled in comperison to the others. Somehow it feels that something’s lacking..
Lastly we had the Furikake Salmon Sandwich which i enjoyed too. The colours are so pretty! The furikake(bits of seaweed) gave a wonderful touch to the smoked salmon, making the entire combination was delicious. (:
FINALLY! The moment I’ve been waitinf for… DESSERTS!
First up is the Matcha Financier that looked like mini toasts~ It is actually a french cake that is shaped like a gold bar. The cake is really dense and nice to chew on, it tastes really cute and eggy~ kind of like a unique cross between cake and kueh.
Next is my favourite! Matcha Azuki! I love azuki beans! The azuki totally spiced up the cake, it was yum yum and the colours are pretty too. It’s a matchmake in heaven~
Matcha cotton is a fluffy soft spongy cake with fresh cream inside. They should make a azuki version!! Aha~ anyway it was really soft like cloud and the cream’s rich too.
We also had the Matcha Panna Cotta which I didn’t like.. but but but some says it tasted heavenly! I guess panna cotta just doesn’t appeal to my tastebuds. The texture is REALLY creamy but not like fresh cream.. just.. weird.
Lastly, we ended off the meal with a warm Ochacha Silk, which is matcha with soymilk. It is mildly sweentened and tasted really healthy..
I would like to thank BREADPIG! for hosting this event~ It was a really unique experience. Food really brings diffrent people together!
Aside from the food, the company was awesome. Zhengning, Estelle, Shuqing, Breadpig and everyone else. (: Miss Shopowner was really friendly and chatted alot with us too. :D

Back from orientation camp!

Had lots of activities with the more memorable ones bring the really awesome night walk at 2.30am in the morning and the human version of arcade football.
We had packed food for 2 meals and for the rest, I tried out food from all the various canteens.. affordable but nothing splendid… yet. Design school’s malay food, western and teh bing (made by uncle) are raved by many though. (:
I have to say that what made the camp most fruitful were the people. Every single person in my group has their distinct style and are really interesting and fun to be with.

Anyway, felt like baking a cake today~ This is my first cake attempt which involves beating eggwhites. I’ve been wanting to try it for the longest time, but many people’s failed attempts at eggwhite whisking shoo-ed me from doing so..
I brought the cake to granny’s house and everyone likes it. (: IUnlike the american cheesecake which is dense and cheesey, this one’s lighter and fluffier. But but but.. my cake’s top is really ugly! It’s rough and unevenly browned.. ): I wonder why? Is it the oven’s fault? (the healting element refused to turn red again)
Look at the texture! It’s so smooth! Soft with a melt-in-your-mouth feel.

After which me and jul went to Candy Empire and she bought jellybeans just because it came from Ireland. It has more than a dozen different colours and it’s fun guessing what flavour you got, though it gets abit tricky as they all taste the same. :x

Introducing the new Red Bean rice flake shake..
The creamy milk base tasted like melted vanilla ice cream..
The rice flakes were crispy and light, complementing the whole mix of sweetness.
The red bean paste was of mild sweetness,the type where you can still make out the shape of the beans, perfect.
The dangos were chewy and soft,and had a very homely taste which gets better as you chew..
All topped with a sprinkle of toasted soybean powder which reminded me of horlicks.
Scoop a little of the milk base, top it with a rice flake and some red bean paste and a bite of dango.. and I’m in heaven!
This may not apply to you though.. since I’m such a big red bean lover.
This is CM’s cranberry rice flake shake..
Cranberrys on a bed of yoghurt pudding and rice flakes, completed with a milky base.. Hmm~ gets addictive!

Finally had the chance to meet up with Zhengning, best online friend I’ve ever had~ now we’re not only online friends anymore ye~ (:

Zhengning ‘toured’ me around her house and we had some small girltalk as she shared some things we’ve talked about online hee~

Made sushi! Did some research in the morning so that we can zoom out fast to get the ingredients and start working on the sushis!
The tamagoyaki was challenging to make~ we cheated with our hands and 2 spoons. Doesn’t matter, it was fun and it turned out fine!
Tried out the cylindrical molds from Daiso, the rice turned out so cute, just like the wheels of a car..
