indians have the best vegetarian food

dosa

A few days ago, I had vegetable dosa @ an Annalakshmi’s Dosa Deli at the entrance of Lau pa sat. Their menu was really simple, just a few variants of Dosas and Uttapams.

I watched the man as he made the dosa. He served it and when i asked ‘How much?’, he answered ‘Up to you’. one of his customers then pointed to the signboard which reads ‘Eat what you want, pay as you wish’(or something along this line). I was shocked. What I paid shall remain a secret. (:

His noble business really benefits the foreign workers around that area.. they get to taste good indian food instead of their plain rice with curry and most importantly, it is within their budget. I found out that this stall have not only have branches and restaurants(with a bigger menu) in Singapore, but also overseas.

The food tasted good too, which was a pleasant surprise.

prra

The same night I suddenly had a craving for egg prata with sugar(not pictured). I find it a very comforting and delicious combination. The fluffy soft eggy part was a joy to savour, combined with the sugar bits which provided a delightful crunch and sweetness.

Somehow I feel that indians have good service, or maybe it’s just the few places i patronize.

doubleb

A few days ago I treated a good friend to lunch at Botak Jones upon his request and this is what he had. A Double Botak Burger with 2 thick meat patties and a slice of melted cheese on each patty, together with a few pieces of lettuce and tomatoes. Side dishes are the yummy cheese potato and spicy fries.

He actually finished everything… plus the can of pepsi.

sunny egg muffin

6 June, 2009

morning, 7.30am:

egg

i like it for it’s sunny, bright and cheery outlook..

the soft and thick sunny side up egg layer which complements the wholesome slice of turkey ham and gooey, melty and tasty cheese.. sandwiched between the lightly toasted muffin with the perfect chew and lightness in the interior which carries some butter/magerine, bringing out a mild, comforting taste and the wholesome, rough exterior..

i am hakka!

16 April, 2009

this bowl of hakke lei cha fan(thunder tea rice) is one of my favourite dishes in the world..

23

i love it so much that i made 3 trips down to eat it within this week.

eating it just puts a smile of my face and warms up my stomach and makes me sigh in blisss…..

(: lei cha is a hakka dish and it is basically rice topped with different types of cooked veggy, peanuts, tofu and ikan billies served with soup. the soup is blended from around 10 different ingredients including tea leaves.. it is abit bitter, savoury and nutty~ the peanuts and ikan billies just add a frangrant and awesome crunch to every bite and everything taste so delicious together!

i love pouring in all the soup and mixing everything up to eat! it’s an aquired taste though~

*happy sigh*
